ORAL DISSOLVING FILM SCIENCE
See how the format works, what goes into each formula, why the doses were chosen, and what we verify in the finished product.
One strip. Three steps. Nothing to mix or measure.
Individual product directions may vary. Follow the directions on your Meltiva package.
STEP 1
Each Melt is individually wrapped. Open one when you are ready to use it.
STEP 2
Remove the film with dry hands and place it in your mouth according to the directions on your product.
STEP 3
Let the strip dissolve completely.
No water is needed to dissolve the film itself.
ACTUAL FINISHED PRODUCT
This is the finished product in real time.
When the film comes into contact with moisture in the mouth, the film-forming system softens and begins to disintegrate, releasing the ingredients contained in it. Oral thin-film performance depends on the formulation and physical properties of the film.
How quickly the film dissolves and how an ingredient behaves after release are two different questions.
Depending on the active and formulation, released ingredients may interact with tissues in the mouth or ultimately be swallowed and absorbed through the digestive system. The format alone does not establish superior absorption for every ingredient.
Film the actual finished product under a repeatable protocol. Do not manufacture a pretty animation and call that dissolution time. If SKUs differ meaningfully, show the measured time for each formula.
ONE MELT, OPENED UP
Start with the box. Pull out one sachet. Open it to one serving. Then zoom into the film itself.
One continuous visual should carry the eye from package → sachet → strip → enlarged film composition.
THE BOX
The outer package keeps your individually wrapped servings together.
THE SACHET
The sachet protects the film from handling and environmental exposure until you are ready to open it.
THE STRIP
No scoop. No measuring. No counting capsules.
INSIDE THE FILM
Zoom in to show the functional parts that make the finished film work.
FILM BASE
The film-forming system gives the strip its shape and allows it to break down in the mouth.
ACTIVE FORMULA
The active ingredients for that specific formula, with the amounts disclosed on the label.
FLAVOR + FINISH
The ingredients that shape taste, texture and the finished experience of taking the film.
One strip has to carry the formula, hold together in the sachet, taste right, and then disappear when you use it.
WHY A MELT?
Because the format can remove a surprising amount of friction from taking one.
WHAT THE FORMAT CHANGES
The film breaks down in the mouth instead of being swallowed whole.
You do not need a drink simply to get the serving down.
One strip is already portioned.
Each strip is individually wrapped.
There is less equipment between you and taking it.
WHAT THE FORMAT DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY MEAN
That depends on the ingredient and formulation.
A different delivery format alone is not proof of better absorption.
Different ingredients have different evidence, mechanisms and timelines.
A thin film has limited physical capacity compared with formats designed for gram-scale ingredient loads. Oral-film formulation requires attention to ingredient load, mechanical properties, stability and disintegration.
The formula has to fit the format. Not the other way around.
A fast-dissolving film is not the same thing as a fast-acting claim.
PHARMACIST FORMULATED
A pharmacy counter teaches you to look past the promise on the front and start asking questions about what is actually on the back.
The value is not the credential by itself. It is the discipline behind the formula.
PURPOSE
Every ingredient should have a defined role in the formula.
FORM
The generic ingredient name does not always tell the whole story. The form, extract, strain or standardization can determine how closely the ingredient matches published research.
AMOUNT
An impressive ingredient name means less when you cannot see the amount. Meltiva discloses the amounts of its active ingredients rather than using a proprietary blend.
EVIDENCE
Ingredient. Form. Amount. Population. Study length. Outcome. Those details determine how closely research applies to the formula in front of you.
OVERLAP
Ingredients do not exist in isolation once you start combining products. Shared vitamins, minerals, botanicals and stimulants change total intake.
FILM FIT
The ingredient still has to work within the physical constraints of a thin strip.
EXPECTATIONS
A study measured after an hour is not the same thing as a study conducted over eight weeks. The timeline is part of the evidence.
THE MELTIVA STANDARD
Clear purpose. Exact forms. Disclosed active amounts. No proprietary blends. No pretending every ingredient has the same level of evidence.
RESEARCH · FORMULATION · TESTING
Human studies can help us understand an ingredient, preparation, amount or outcome.
It does not automatically prove the finished Meltiva formula. This is where ingredient role, form, amount and combination come together.
It explains our decisions.Finished-product testing evaluates the product against the specifications included in that test program.
It does not prove a health outcome.A study on one ingredient is not a clinical trial of the finished Melt. A passing laboratory result is not clinical evidence of benefit.
FORMULA EXPLORER
Choose a Melt to see every active, how much we use, the role it plays, and how closely the available human research matches the ingredient in our formula.
When the research used a different dose, extract, strain, preparation or population, we show the difference.
CALM
Built around a calmer state without turning the formula into a sleep product.
Core calm-support ingredient.
Human research has examined L-theanine in relaxation, attention and stress paradigms. A 50 mg study examined EEG activity, while other acute studies have used 200 mg.
TRANQUILITY contains 75 mg. That gives us relevant human ingredient evidence, but it is not the same dose as the 200 mg studies.
Supporting calm-focused active.
Oral GABA has been studied in human stress/relaxation paradigms, including research using larger amounts than TRANQUILITY contains.
TRANQUILITY uses 25 mg. We therefore treat this as supporting ingredient evidence rather than a direct dose-match claim.
Supporting botanical.
Human research exists on proprietary preparations combining Magnolia with other botanicals, including Magnolia/Phellodendron combinations. That does not directly establish an outcome for 10 mg of Meltiva's standalone Magnolia extract.
Supporting botanical and sensory component.
Some of the best-known oral lavender trials used 80 mg/day of a specific standardized preparation, Silexan, over several weeks. Meltiva's 8 mg lavender oil should not be presented as equivalent to that preparation or amount.
Nutritional support within the formula.
ENERGY
Built around a clear acute energy anchor: caffeine.
Primary alertness and energy active.
A randomized crossover study gave 22 adults 80 mg of caffeine from coffee, an energy drink, a capsule or a dissolvable mouth strip. Researchers assessed mood/arousal and cognitive performance after administration. Caffeine improved measures including alertness, tiredness and vigilance across caffeine sources.
Study amount: 80 mg. IGNITE amount: 80 mg. The study also included a dissolvable mouth-strip caffeine condition.
It was not a study of IGNITE, and it does not establish that the strip format is universally superior to the other caffeine formats.
Supporting stimulant active.
A randomized crossover study in 25 healthy adults evaluated 100 mg methylliberine. Subjective measures of energy, concentration, motivation and mood changed at several post-dose time points, while objective cognitive testing did not significantly improve.
IGNITE contains 35 mg. Relevant ingredient research, but not a dose match.
Nutritional support.
Caffeine, not the B vitamins.
MOTION
Built around ginger for motion-heavy moments.
Core botanical.
Controlled human motion studies have evaluated ginger under experimental motion conditions. One crossover study used 1,000 and 2,000 mg ginger and found changes in nausea-related measures during circular vection.
STEADY contains 50 mg ginger extract, not 1,000 mg of ginger root powder. Those numbers should not be directly compared until the extract ratio and/or active-marker standardization is confirmed.
Supporting component.
L-theanine has human research in stress and attention contexts, but those studies are not direct evidence of motion support at 35 mg.
Supporting nutrient.
Supporting sensory/formulation components.
GUT
Anchored by one of the closest dose matches in the lineup.
Core gut-focused ingredient.
In a randomized crossover study, ten healthy volunteers received 37.5 mg zinc L-carnosine twice daily, totaling 75 mg/day, during a five-day indomethacin challenge. The study evaluated changes in gut permeability.
Human study: 75 mg/day. BIOME: 75 mg/serving.
It was a small study in a specific experimental challenge model. It was not a clinical study of BIOME.
Non-viable bacterial component.
Human evidence for L. plantarum is strain-specific. Before this card gets any evidence badge, confirm and publish the exact strain used in BIOME.
[TO CONFIRM]
Supporting formulation component.
Human gastrointestinal trials of supplemental glutamine have commonly used gram-scale doses. A randomized trial cited in this area used 5 g three times per day, far above BIOME's 10 mg.
We should not present 10 mg as a dose-matched glutamine outcome claim.
Nutritional support within the formula.
CRAVINGS
The oral format creates an especially interesting Gymnema story.
Core sweet-craving botanical.
Human randomized crossover research has evaluated Gymnema-containing dissolving mints. In one study, the Gymnema mint reduced chocolate consumed and changed ratings relating to desire and pleasantness compared with placebo. Longer-use Gymnema-mint research has also been conducted, with mixed findings across endpoints.
Published mint studies characterize the active Gymnema exposure through gymnemic acids. CURB currently lists 30 mg Gymnema extract. We need CURB's gymnemic-acid standardization before claiming that our 30 mg amount matches those studies.
Supporting craving/appetite botanical.
A randomized placebo-controlled study in mildly overweight women evaluated a specific saffron extract at 176.5 mg/day for eight weeks and reported changes in snacking frequency.
CURB contains 60 mg and may not use the same standardized saffron preparation.
Supporting formulation components.
Supporting mineral.
A placebo-controlled human study evaluating appetite and food intake used 1,000 mcg/day chromium picolinate for eight weeks, substantially more than CURB's 200 mcg.
HYDRATION
Designed to go with the water you were already going to drink.
HYDRATE is a low-mass oral-film formula. It is not positioned as a replacement for a gram-scale sports drink or oral rehydration solution.
Electrolyte component.
Supporting formulation component.
Supporting active.
Human exercise studies of taurine generally use amounts measured in grams, not tens of milligrams; a systematic review described acute human doses in roughly the 1–6 g range.
The 30 mg in HYDRATE should not be presented as dose-matched to taurine exercise-performance research.
Supporting ingredient.
The amount should not be framed as equivalent to research involving coconut-water beverages.
Supporting mineral ingredient.
HYDRATE is about putting a small, individually wrapped formula beside the water already in your routine, not pretending a thin strip can hold the ingredient mass of a full electrolyte drink.
WHEN WAS THE RESEARCH MEASURED?
Some studies measure an acute response. Others look at repeated use over days or weeks. That difference matters.
It tells you when that particular study looked for an outcome.
USING MORE THAN ONE MELT?
Some Meltiva formulas share active ingredients. Using more than one formula changes your total intake.
Compare the Supplement Facts for every formula you plan to use. IGNITE also contributes caffeine to your total daily caffeine intake.

A FORMULA STILL HAS TO BECOME A FILM
The formula still has to work inside a thin oral film.
Use real manufacturing and film imagery here. No generic laboratory stock footage.
INGREDIENT LOAD
A strip is a low-mass format. Ingredient selection has to respect that constraint.
UNIFORMITY
The formulation and manufacturing process have to produce consistent finished units.
STABILITY
Film, formula and package need to remain suitable through the product's intended shelf life.
DISSOLUTION
The finished film has to soften and break down as designed.
EXPERIENCE
Taste, texture and mouthfeel matter in a format that dissolves in the mouth.
Oral-film literature treats mechanical properties, ingredient/excipient selection and disintegration as meaningful parts of film performance rather than incidental details.
TESTING
They answer different questions.
01 — RESEARCH
The ingredient-level evidence.
02 — FORMULATION
The form, amount and finished combination.
03 — TESTING
The results from the tests actually performed.
INDEPENDENT FINISHED-PRODUCT TESTING
Choose a Melt to see the available testing for the finished formula and open the original report.
The page should show exactly what was tested for the relevant lot rather than treating “lab tested” as one undefined universal test.
LAB RESULT BROWSER
Only testing actually performed for the selected lot should appear here.
SELECTED FORMULA
WHAT DOES A PASSING RESULT MEAN?
It means the reported result met the applicable specification for that test. It does not mean Eurofins clinically tested the benefits of the formula.

QUESTIONS WORTH ASKING
Clear answers are part of the science.
No. The finished Meltiva formulas have not been clinically studied as complete products. The research shown here evaluates individual ingredients or related preparations. We keep that distinction visible rather than presenting ingredient research as a clinical trial of Meltiva.
No. The strip dissolving in the mouth does not mean every active is absorbed through oral tissue. What happens after release depends on the ingredient and formulation.
No. A different delivery format alone does not establish greater bioavailability.
No. The film itself can dissolve quickly. The time it takes for an ingredient to produce a measurable or noticeable effect is a separate question.
The 80 mg caffeine study, for example, observed caffeine effects from coffee, an energy drink, a capsule and a dissolvable strip rather than establishing universal superiority of the strip format.
Because the experience still matters.
No pill to swallow. No water needed to dissolve the film. No mixing. No scoop. One individually wrapped serving that is easy to keep close.
We do not need an unsupported absorption claim to make those advantages useful.
Because a research paper and a finished formula are not the same thing.
Sometimes Meltiva's amount aligns closely with published human research. Sometimes there are meaningful differences. When there is a difference, we show it.
If an active matters enough to include, its amount matters enough to show you.
It means pharmacist thinking is applied to the formula.
Purpose. Ingredient form. Amount. Evidence. Overlap. Cautions. Film fit.
It does not turn a dietary supplement into a medication or a pharmacist into a substitute for your personal healthcare provider.
It tells you the result of the tests actually performed on the finished product.
It does not prove that the formula produces a clinical outcome.
Start by comparing the labels.
Some formulas share ingredients, and IGNITE contains caffeine. Your total intake matters more than the number of boxes in your bag.
It depends on the formula and the ingredient.
We do not put every Melt on the same clock. Where useful, the Formula Explorer shows when the relevant human research measured its outcomes so you can distinguish acute studies from research based on repeated use.
